I'm really torn by this song. There are some parts that I'm really enjoying, and then other parts that ruin it.

0:00 - 0:30 I almost didn't make it to 0:30 because the intro was so boring. There was nothing there that interested me.
0:30 - I felt this was when the music actually began.
0:48 - I really love the quick double tapping background. It complements the melody very well without overpowering it.
1:03 & 2:05 - I felt these parts were very weak and lazy. There is no energy to them to carry it. You had some amazing dancing feelings before and when the drops came, it was very lacking and ruined it for me.
3:06 - I enjoyed the ending. It was a good way to sum it all up.

Overall you have some great sounding parts, and some really lacking parts. I feel if you put more energy into those boring parts, you'll have a solid song.

[Get Up And Dance (Techno)]

Same reason why people don't like jazz, classical, dub step, ect. People just don't like music because it's not their thing.
The thing about techno/trance is that it was over done so much a couple of years ago that most techno/trance became repetition and started to all sound the same to the general listener. Now that people have moved to dub step/house, people have forgotten how amazing techno/trance was and can be.
This is why I love Newgrounds. We have artist that loves and hasn't forgotten how amazing techno/trance is.
I'm not saying that this song is amazing, but it is unique and that's what I find fascinating about techno/trance.

I saw the title of this and i was like, "This has to be amazing". I listened to it and i went :O what the crap is this? For being a huge fan of the original, this was a real let down. The noises are now annoying, I'm not sure y u would want to change the notes to the song when the original was already working, and why was there so many simularities with the original?
If i were to rate this not basing it off the original, i would say that the intro was annoying, it didn't seem to flow as well though out the song, and the chorus was awesome.
That's all i have to say. peace.

you haven't lost your tough

One thing about your music is that they connect with each other and they all give the same feel of epicness. Well, now that it's been years later, you came back with a song that brings in the new elements of 2009, 2010, and 2011, and because of this, it doesn't have the simularities as your other songs. But that doesn't matter. You've still managed to bring in this new element into 2012 and it is still as epic as ever.
Good Job. I'll always be waiting for your next post. :)

first, I don't like long songs because I usually can't focus all the way through it. So, If I say anything about shortining part of a song, you don't have to listen to me. I just like short songs. Also, I wrote the reveiew as if I was shortining it.

OK, for the beginning, I would have made the bass that comes in at :30 come in at like :20 and make the adjustments with everything else to fit it in.
At :53, with the popping sound that is sorta in the background, make it really pop. It's good and all but I feel that it can be more. Just make it explode.
I like what you did with the bass at 1:17. It really gets it going.
1:30 to 1:55 It feels that this is just added to fill in space. I beleave that I could be cut out and still get the what you want out of it.
2:22 to 2:27 The sound that comes in here is very nice and really adds to the drop. but then it fades and it's back to were it was. If you could extend that sound all the way to 2:41, It would be nice and loose it's touch so much. Same here with 3:28. Carry the sound to 3:47.
Personally, I would have ended the song at around 4:10. like take the end that you have for the song and plop it there. but the song continues.
The whistle sound that you have at 4:15 - 5:12, nice touch to the sound. I would carry that sound back to 3:28 to help that out.
I like the ending. I would just leave that alone.

All together, its pritty much the same thing with different twist and all. I can't say that I like it, but at the same point, every time that I here this song, I get into it. Untill I lose focus of the song and start thinking of other things.

On a side note, what Atomicon was doing was comparing your to other techno music. And that's not what being a judge is about.
For the song, I'd say just need a more holesome to it. Like theres nothing to hold on to. Like at 1:15 - 2:30, the lead was nice, drums ok, but the background it a bit simple and not all there.
At 2:30 when the high sound comes it. That was good but it had an edge to it that kinda hurt my ears. My be me but I'm saying it.

you did what was needed for this. you kept the song to what it was and made a new style that didn't lose it's touch.
my only problem is that the guitar either has to much Hz (frequence) or overload. Something anyways. It seems to cover the piano a little to much.

Very true. There's an overload of high frequencies here and it's still a problem I'm trying to solve ^^; Glad you noticed though, I wasn't really sure for myself, but now I am. Thanks!

Little story

I was listening to this song playing minesweeper and my sister comes in wondering what I'm doing. After a while she asked, "Is this your inspirational music for minesweeper?" She eventrualy left. Then my brother comes in for no reason and asks, "Is this music inspiring you?" So, I guess that was this music is.

About the song. It's nice and easy listening. Calming yet keeps going. It has this edge to it that makes it come alive.
